The 9 11 Memorial 5K is now an Officially USATF Certified 5K! This means your run can qualify you into some major events that ask for qualifying standards, such as the Peachtree Road Race and major marathon like New York or Boston. USATF Certificate GA24032WC
On September 7th, 2024 Valdosta Fire Department will hold their 4th annual 9/11 5k Memorial Run in remembrance of the events that transpired on September 11, 2001. The event is meant to pay homage to those who lost their lives or the lives of loved ones and to acknowledge all the brave first responders who passed in the line of duty. The race will have a patriotic theme, and the Fire Department encourages community members to show their support by lining the racecourse with decorated signs and/or costumes.

Early entry fee is only $25 until midnight August 25, 2024. Late entry fee is $30 until 3pm on Sept 6, 2023 and then $35 on race day. First Responders are only $10.
At 7:45 am Mayor Matheson will give a speech and the race will begin promptly at 8am. The race will take place in Downtown Valdosta and will start at 120 N Patterson Street. The course is a fast out and back running past Valdosta State University.
100% of the race proceeds will be presented to the
Valor Service Dogs Inc.
Awards will be presented to the top Overal male and female, Masters male and female, and top two in the following age groups 11 and Under, 12 - 14, 15- 19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 70 and Over.
We will also recognize the oldest and youngest finishers and the most patriotic.
